At Guitarking we’ve been proud dealers of Kauffmann guitars for many years. This Dutch builder knows better than anyone how to create an instrument that plays, sounds, and feels like it has been making music for decades. The result: guitars that are completely handmade with great attention to detail and quality – but at a price you would normally only expect from mass production.

The Kauffmann models we’ve had in stock in recent years were custom-built in unique colors and finishes, often made with the special lightweight Paulownia wood. Prices naturally reflect these choices, which is why custom builds are often a bit higher.

Because we want every guitarist to enjoy the quality of a Kauffmann instrument, we worked together with Kauffmann to create the Standard Series. This line combines everything that makes a Kauffmann guitar so exceptional, but in a smart configuration that keeps the price surprisingly low for a handmade instrument.

What are the key features of the Standard Series?

• Alder body (true to classic USA ST and T models)

• Sanded neck back

• Rolled fretboard edges & top-class fretwork

• Nitrocellulose finish

• Colors: Bull Black, Olympic White, Dakota Red, Fiesta Red, Vintage White, Sonic Blue

• Light relic with lacquer crackle finish

• Gotoh 510 tremolo with the perfect steel block

• Highwood saddles (smooth handpalm playing)

• Hand-wound pickups with refined clean/drive output

• Volume/Tone/Bridge & Neck pickup blender pot

• CTS pots, pushback cloth wire, Switchcraft output

Everything you would expect from a high-quality, handmade guitar is included. The savings come from the finishing: we chose standard colors and a light relic. That means you pay less, but still get the exact same quality and sound as the more expensive versions.

Would you prefer another color or a heavy relic? No problem! For an additional fee, Kauffmann can fully customize your guitar. If you choose from the color code 1 palette and stick with the light relic finish, the price remains the same. Of course, we also have a wide selection of custom-built models in stock with Paulownia bodies, heavy relics, HSS pickup configurations, and unique finishes.
