Money For Nothing
One of the most iconic guitar riffs of all time must be the one in 'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits. The song, released in 1985, is still a real head-turner, and it marks the beginning of the era in which Mark Knopfler has been famously using his Les Paul, that was used on several songs on the album 'Brothers in Arms' and that he played prominently at the famous Live Aid Festival. For 'Brothers in Arms', Knopfler was inspired by ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, and he picked up his own Les Paul in search for similar beefy rock tones. It has been a regular in his hands for over 30 years now.
